Summer Rituals
Watching them trek across the sand
Hot underfoot from grains sparkling like tiny glass
Seeking and venturing new places to dwell
Planting a symbolic flag of right
Settling in an open house without walls
Lingering for just a minute before running
Toward the blue crystalline massive pool of water
Cooling themselves from the summer heat
Repeating this many times
As the ladies watch from the shore tanning themselves*
